About the course
LASSMANN EDUCATION – UPDATE Symposium
Lassmann Education (formerly Master Level) is proud to present the UPDATE SYMPOSIUM – one of the most important educational events for dentists who want to stay current with the rapidly evolving world of modern dentistry.
It brings together experienced clinicians, renowned lecturers, and people passionate about continuous growth, who come to share their knowledge, experience, and inspiration drawn from everyday practice. UPDATE is a space where theory meets practice, and where the latest trends and solutions are presented by experts who actively apply them in their own clinics.
This is an event created for people who refuse to stand still – for those who seek new perspectives, value the exchange of experience, and believe that professional development is a lifelong process. Beyond its rich program of content, UPDATE is also a unique opportunity to build relationships, make new connections, and talk with people who share the same passion for dentistry.
Join us and spend this event among the people who are shaping the direction of contemporary dentistry. Get inspired, broaden your horizons, and return to your practice with new energy, motivation, and knowledge you can put to use in your everyday work.
Lecturers
Łukasz Lassmann, DDS, PhD
Dr. Lassmann is a dentist and co-founder of One&Only Clinic, specializing in comprehensive bite and smile reconstruction, as well as the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders and orofacial pain. He earned his PhD with a dissertation on the anatomical correlations between occlusion and the temporomandibular joint.
He is a graduate of prestigious institutions, including the Kois Center (Seattle), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), UCLA, and the Mediterranean Prosthodontic Institute.
A member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and holder of the Master of Orofacial Pain title, Dr. Lassmann is also the founder of the Lassmann Education training program. He is an internationally recognized lecturer, having taught in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and co-author of the book Full Mouth Reconstruction, scheduled for global release this year by Quintessence Publishing.
Dr. Stavros Pelekanos is a dentist and Assistant Professor at the Department of Prosthodontics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His clinical practice focuses on prosthodontics, implantology, and esthetic dentistry.
He graduated in Dentistry from the University of Athens in 1991 and obtained his doctoral degree in Prosthodontics (Dr med dent) from the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 1993, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. J.R. Strub.
Dr. Pelekanos is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and is also affiliated with the International College of Prosthodontics, the European Prosthodontic Association, and the Greek Prosthodontic Association. He is a faculty member of the gIDE Institute in Los Angeles and lectures internationally, conducting lectures and hands-on courses in implant dentistry, esthetics, and restorative procedures.
In 2008 and 2011, Dr. Pelekanos received the second and first prizes, respectively, in the scientific award competition of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, held in Madrid and Istanbul. He is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications and several book chapters, and is a recognized international lecturer in contemporary prosthodontics and esthetic dentistry.
Dr. Rhodri Thomas is a cosmetic and restorative dentist and internationally recognized educator specializing in advanced aesthetic dentistry, composite artistry, tooth wear, and full mouth rehabilitation. He graduated with Honours from Cardiff University, where his artistic background strongly influenced his approach to aesthetic dentistry.
He is known for his innovative resin layering techniques and natural-looking composite restorations, and has contributed to the development of composite materials and dental instruments. He is also the author of publications and books dedicated to composite artistry.
Dr. Thomas is a multi-award-winning clinician and lecturer who teaches internationally at major conferences and hands-on courses. He is the founder and director of The Art of Dentistry, an international training program focused on aesthetic restorative dentistry and composite artistry.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” — Albert Einstein
The most beautiful restorations are rarely created by copying other restorations. They are created by understanding nature itself.
This lecture explores the tooth as a living optical structure, using 3D digital visualisation, clinical photography, microscopy and restorative concepts to reveal how enamel, dentine, light and anatomy interact to create natural beauty.
Using advanced CGI visualisations and microscopic imagery, delegates will gain a unique perspective of dental structures that are normally invisible to the naked eye. By exploring enamel prisms, dentine architecture, light propagation and the subtle details that define natural teeth, participants will develop a deeper understanding of colour, form and optics, transforming the way they observe and recreate nature in daily practice.
Delegates will learn how to analyse teeth in three dimensions, understand the optical behaviour of natural tissues, and translate these observations into predictable restorative outcomes. Through a series of step-by-step clinical cases, practical protocols and layering strategies, the principles of recreating nature will be applied to both simple and highly aesthetic restorative challenges.
From shade selection and optical integration to morphology, texture and surface refinement, this presentation provides a practical framework for creating restorations that blend seamlessly with nature.
Learning Objectives
1. Understand the three-dimensional architecture of enamel and dentine, and how ageing influences colour, value, translucency and optical behaviour.
2. Learn how to analyse and visualise tooth anatomy in three dimensions to improve diagnosis, treatment planning and restorative predictability.
3. Understand the interaction of light with dental tissues and how this knowledge can be applied to shade selection, layering strategies and material selection.
4. Develop a systematic approach to recreating natural anatomy, texture and morphology in both direct and indirect restorations.
5. Apply practical clinical workflows and restorative techniques to achieve aesthetic outcomes that harmonise with nature.
